Welcome back to the KBB unstoppable business owner podcast. It's 2025. Happy new year to you. I want to start by thanking you for listening all through 2024. It's been a whirlwind of the podcast and it means the world to me to know that you've been finding the podcast helpful. Today we're going to dive into a topic that couldn't be more timely. How to set yourself up for the success in 2025 by focusing on the one thing that will make Or break your goals, your mindset. Every new year brings a sense of possibility, a clean slate and energy to tackle those ambitious plans. But let's face it. How often do we find ourselves slipping back into old habits by February? It's not about a lack of skill or opportunity. The real challenge lies in your mindset. Today, I'm going to share why mindset is the foundation of business transformation and introduce a simple yet powerful framework called reset. This framework is designed to help you break free from hesitation, overcome those limiting beliefs and continue to grow. And turn 2025 into a breakthrough year. Every year, thousands of business owners set ambitious goals. I'm going to double my turnover. I'm finally going to launch that new product. This is the year that I scale my business. Does any of this sound familiar? Yeah. As the weeks roll on, enthusiasm fades and the daily grind takes over. Fear creeps in. Self doubt starts to whisper. What if I fail? Am I really ready for this? Here's the truth, the problem isn't your skills, your resources or even the timing, it's your mindset. Your thoughts directly influence the actions that you take. And if those thoughts are rooted in fear or that limiting belief, then you're stuck before you've even begun. Common mindset traps include the fear of failure. What if I try and it doesn't work? Now this one, I hate saying this word. Let's see if how it comes out. Perfectionism. I can't start until everything is perfect. Imposter syndrome. Who am I to think that I can achieve this? When these beliefs take hold, they derail your plans. They leave you frustrated and stuck in a cycle. Failing to address your mindset can have serious consequences, both in the short term and in the long term. In the short term, you can miss opportunities. Hesitation means you don't act on those opportunities as they arise. You can have lack of confidence. You avoid bold decisions, which are often the key to your growth. You can increase your stress operating reactively instead of proactively. This is going to erode your focus and your creativity in the longterm. This can diminish your ambition. Repeated inaction leads to smaller, lesser ambitious goals. You could have that less of loss of competitiveness edge while you're hesitating. While you're hesitating, competitors are innovating and growing. Burnout, constant frustration leads to a toll on your energy and your motivation. The longer you stay in this mindset, the harder it becomes to break free, but there's hope, and this is where the reset framework comes in to transform your mindset and break free. I have three simple steps that are part of the reset framework. It's. Reflect, reframe, and reignite. So let's dive into each step. The first step is to reflect. Reflection is where transformation begins. You can't move forward effectively without understanding where you've been. Questions to ask yourself. These are things like what worked well in 2024. Why did it? Why didn't it? What held you back? What patterns of thoughts and behaviors do you need to release? This isn't about beating yourself up over mistakes, it's about learning from them. Think of this step as creating a roadmap for your future by acknowledging both the wins and the challenges. When you look at social media it's easy to see everybody talks about all the positives. Positives are great. But you'd also need to be looking at those negatives because you need to be able to learn from those negatives To have better positives in the future. An example would be something like imagining that you want to increase your revenue last year, but you fell short because you hesitated to rise your prices. Reflection on this helps you identify that fear. Maybe you were worried about losing customers. This prepares you to address this in the next step. The second step is to reframe. So when we're looking at this, we're looking at reframing your view on things. Reframing is all about challenging those limiting beliefs that hold you back and we replace them with one that's more empowering. Common reframes that you should be looking to include are things like replacing I'm not ready with I'll learn as I go. I've failed before with I've gained a valuable experience. Your internal dialogue matters. When you actively reprogram your thoughts, you create a mindset that encourages growth and action. Now, a practical tip would be to write down three limiting beliefs that you've noticed during that reflection stage. Take each one, an empowering framework next to each one, right? An empowering reframe. For example, let's talk about your limited belief could be something like, I can't compete with an established business. When we reframe this, it becomes something more along the lines of my unique perspective is actually a competitive advantage. And then this leads into the final step where you look to reignite. So reigniting your passion involves aligning your goals with your core values and your longterm vision. This step is the one step that ensures that your motivation doesn't fizzle out by February. So how do you reignite that passion? You set aligned goals. So you look to make sure your goals reflect what truly matters to you, break them down, divide big goals into manageable steps. We celebrate those small wins and acknowledge the progress to maintain that momentum. Surround yourself with support. Seek out mentors, peers, or resources that inspire you or motivate you. Hopefully we do a little bit of motivating on the podcast, but do seek this out because motivation is one of those things that you need the consistency. An example of this would be if your goal is to scale your business, for example, start by identifying one area to improve. Maybe it's automating the customer service process. Tackle that first, then move to the next step. Success starts in your mind. So if we reflect on this and look at this as, what am I saying here? Well, your business will only grow as far as your mindset allows. This isn't just a motivational quote. It's a proven truth. Research shows that mindset accounts for a significant proportion of entrepreneurial success. By prioritizing your mindset, you're laying the groundwork for everything else to flourish. We all get caught up in this the amount of time that I have doubted myself only to talk the problem through with someone to find that I already know what I need to do. That being said, it makes me feel slightly better that 79 percent of business leaders in the UK acknowledge that adopting a different set of leadership mindset is essential for your business to succeed in the future, 79%. So eight in 10 business leaders think that mindset is key to success for your business. This just reinforces why mindset is so critical to long term success for your business and for your personal life. Before we wrap up, there's three actual steps that I want you to take this week to apply the rest framework. I want you to schedule a reflection session. Set aside 15 or 30 minutes to review your 2024 wins and challenges. Identify one key lesson to carry forward. Number two, I want you to challenge your limiting beliefs. I want you to write down three self limiting thoughts and actively look to reframe these into a positive, empowering statement. finally, I want you to set a goal for January. I want you to define one Pacific actionable goal for January that aligns with your core values. I want you to celebrate those small milestones along the way and come the end of January. As we start 2025, remember this, success isn't just about strategies and tactics. It all starts with the way you actually think. As we start 2025, I want you to remember this, success isn't just about strategies or tactics. It starts with the way you think by using the rest framework, you can transform your mindset and achieve your goals with clarity, confidence, and purpose. Now, thank you for listening. Feel free to reach out and let me know your goals for 2025 and for January. I'm going to be running a workshop, which is going to be introducing the blind spots that you have in your business. So join the waiting list in the show notes below. I'm Kevin DeBanister and you've been listening to the KBB unstoppable business owner podcast.
